After olive oil, table olive exports also increased

Olive oil export records broke the 2017/2018 season, olive exports also paved with olive oil

According to the data of Aegean Exporters Union; considering the first half of seasonal exports of table olives, the 71 million 53 thousand dollar olive exports in the season of 2017/18 have been recorded as the highest export figures of the last 4 seasons.

68 million 482 thousand dollars of season table olives exported in the first half of the 2014-15, in the same period of the 2015-16 season, 66 million 605 thousand dollars of exports has been made. In the first half of the 2016-17 season, table olive exports decreased by 62 million 225 thousand dolars.

2017/18 season in Turkey starting on October 1, 2017, exported 58 million 322 thousand dollars of black olives, green olives exports was 12 million 730 thousand dollars.

The aim is to be the world leader in olive production
Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Union Chairman Davut Er stated Turkey's olive tree presence has increased to 180 millions from 90 millions after plantations. He also said aim is to increase Turkey's 450 thousand tons in the table olive harvest, to 1 million 200 thousand tons, and underlined that the objective is to become a world leader.

Germany, Iraq and Romania are leaders in olive exports
Turkey exports table olives to 94 countries in the first half of the 2017/18 season when the Germany leading with 23 million 263 thousand dollars of exports. 19 million 934 thousand dollars worth of olive exports to Germany as a part of the black olives, green olive exports was 3 million 330 thousand dollars.

Iraq took the second place among the countries Turkey is exporting olives to. Olive exports to Iraq in the first half of 2017/18 season recorded as 12 million 190 thousand dollars. To Romania; 8 million 385 thousand dollars olive exported. Exports to the first three countries in exports accounted for 62 percent of total exports.
